2025+ Trump Tariff Impacts on US Citizens

Throughout his 2024 campaign, Trump promised over and over again, that he would implement tariffs on all countries we import goods from, and that those countries would pay the tariffs resulting in $ Billions of revenues for America. The truth, however, is that he and a majority of everyday Americans are not familiar with the concepts of Macro-Economics and therefore trust that the billionaire “knows what he is doing” and therefore is correct. Despite being advised by experts about how tariffs actually work, he chose to continue to mislead his followers in order to win the election.

The truth about tariffs, is that it is nothing other than a sales tax (references: 1. A Guide to U.S. Import Taxes: Duties, Tariffs, and Other Fees | USA Customs Clearance, 2. Harmonized Tariff Schedule). While tariffs do raise revenue for our Treasury Department, it does so in the form of a general sales tax on the us citizens. The following video explains the anticipated impacts of Trump tariffs on Americans as it stands during mid-March 2025 (a moving target due to Trump continually changing them). As illustrated, the average impact on Americans will be on the order of $1,600 to $2,000 per year. For those with an anual family income below $50 thousand, that is the same as a tax increase of 3.2% to 4%. For an anual family income of $100 thousand, the tax effect would be 1/2 of that, and so on … the wealthier the family, the less impact it will have on their daily lives.

It is pretty certain that, if this had been explained to his voters before the election he would probably have lost (he won less than 51% of the vote in 2024).

Many other economic factors were misrepresented to the American voters during 2024:

One of the major topics under discussion leading up to the November 2024 election, is the state of the US economy. The Fact Sheets below contain 1-to-3-minute reads on each of the major topics of the economy that an extreme portion of the Republican Party routinely mis-represent and which they base on unverified “echo-chamber” and non-academic peer reviewed sources and so-called “studies”.

The Fact Sheet data is readily verifiable and from reliable, respected authoritative sources compiled by non-partisan academics and institutions. Of course, there will be those conspiracy theorists that claim every single data source that does not support their theories, are run by some dark secret organization with world dominance in mind. I can’t help those people but hope that these Sheets provide insights in a clear and easy to understand format that the majority of people from any party affiliation will be able to follow and hopefully to see the data in a greater perspective than through a partisan lens.
